The human body is art in the flesh. The vessels within our bodies are woven into incredible patterns of beauty and carry life within them, but if the tree is not cared for, it will bring death.

​The series of black and white collages presents a harmonious fusion of natural patterns and X-ray angiograms of the head and neck vessels.  Naked shape, tone and texture appear before us. A world without colour is distant from everyday reality and unencumbered by frames. A closer look at the details reveals a darker side to the subject - life is as finite as the arcs of these winding vessels. They, like riverbeds, cut their way through tissue, braid organs and bones, merge into tangles and patterns.  The body's 'root system' is the great mirror image of the human past and projected future.
